The City of Galion is a public power community, and distributes electricity to all residences and buildings in the City as well to several outside of its corporate limits. The city also provides water and sewer for most customers within the city limits.

The City of Galion does not provide trash collection services. Residents and businesses contract with a number of private companies that provide this service. The City of Galion Health Department licenses all trash haulers that operate in the City and a list is available here. For more information call the Health Department at 419-468-1075.
The trash collection schedule is divided into four zones:Ward 1 - Monday and TuesdayWard 2 - Tuesday and WednesdayWard 3 - Wednesday and ThursdayWard 4 - Thursday and Friday

The local public school district is Galion City Schools.
