The Galion Fire Department is
located at 301 Harding Way East. When
fully staffed, the Department
has 17 men including the Chief and Fire Inspector. There are 5
firefighters on each of three shifts that work 24 hours on duty and 48
hours off.
The department is headed by Fire Chief Phillip Jackson who accepted the

serving 16 years in the department.
In addition to fire protection, the Galion Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Services,
Hazardous Materials response, trench, water, and confined space rescue,
state fire code enforcement,
and also participates in
a variety of community projects including Fire safety education and
training and charitable fundraising, such as MDA.
The Department participates in mutual aid as well as automatic aid
with various surrounding cities and townships including Bucyrus,
Crestline, Springfield Township and Morrow County EMS.
The Mission of the Galion Fire Department is to protect lives and
property from the adverse effects of fires, sudden medical emergencies
and exposure to hazardous conditions. We will achieve this by developing,
promoting and maintaining effective fire suppression and emergency
medical care. We will continue to provide these quality services through
education and training, to all who live, work, visit or invest here.
