Phil Jackson, Fire Chief

Phil Jackson was promoted to Chief of the Galion Fire Department in July of 2011.  After being trained in the Army as a medic, Phil started in emergency services back in 1992 as a paramedic for Central Ohio Ambulance service, which covered Shelby and Galion at that time.  He was hired by the City of Galion in February of 1995 as a firefighter/paramedic. 

His qualifications include:  Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management with a concentration in Public Safety Administration, Certified EMT- Paramedic,  EMS Instructor,  Fire Inspector, and Fire Investigator.Hazardous Materials Technician and Confined space

He has received advanced trainings in Management of EMS as well as Fire Department financial management from the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md.
